born 16 January 1974 and discovered in New York at the tender age of 14, this british model has been an icon of the fashion industry for over 25 years. originally famed for making the waif look high fashion, her many career highs and lows have ensured she has never strayed too far from the lens. 

with her razor sharp cheek bones and worldwide appeal, this model has stood the test of time in an industry notorious for chewing you up and spitting you out. 

she's been my favourite model for as long as i can remember, and i couldn't think of a more deserving model to be the first to feature in my model mayhem series.
